Very well done. I love how freaky this image is. It's probably one of the honestly scariest things I've seen in my life, and of course the painting is just beautiful. It's got fantastic depth and is fairly flawless to my eyes.

My only suggestion is actually more of a personal preference than a suggestion, but nm: Would it have been possible to add a little bit of a pattern to the snake-tails? Nothing obvious, but something that would give them a little more visual interest. They're kind of dead white space, and while I think they're fantastic as is, they remind me more of worm tails than snakes, simply because every snake I've ever seen has some sort of patterning, with the exception of black snakes. I also think you could have thrown in a few more warm tones, but that's iffy. I kind of like the whole thing cold.

The concept.. I dunno, it just came to me. The first thing I imagined was the pot. I instantly made a whole story around it.

I did some tests with patterns on tails and it didn't look good to me. The only thing that fits here is very tiny, opalescent scales. It would take me ages to paint it.. And I'm not patient enough .

Why did I not see this before? That's a minor travesty, because this picture is majorly awesome. In fact, it's the kind of painting which tempts me to attempt strange forms of black magic to siphon off talents and vision from the artist.
The arms coming from the metal vessel are scary and scarily genius.
